Find the final price after a percentage discount and see exactly how much you save. Add a second discount to calculate stacked offers such as "extra 10% off sale prices", and include sales tax to see the real checkout price.
How to use the Discount Calculator
- Enter the original price.
- Enter the discount percentage (e.g. 25 for 25% off).
- Optionally add a second stacked discount and a sales tax rate.
- See the final price, the total you save and the effective overall discount.
Discount formula
Sale price = Original price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). For 30% off $80: 80 × 0.70 = $56, saving $24.
Stacked discounts are applied one after another, not added: 20% off then an extra 10% off equals 1 − (0.8 × 0.9) = 28% off overall, not 30%.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate 20% off?
Multiply the price by 0.8. For example, 20% off $50 is 50 × 0.8 = $40.
Are two discounts of 20% the same as 40% off?
No. Two successive 20% discounts equal 36% off (0.8 × 0.8 = 0.64).
Is tax applied before or after the discount?
In most places sales tax is charged on the discounted price, which is how this calculator works.
